Hi! I’m David Roelfzema, and I specialize in turning scattered systems and disconnected training into cohesive, purpose-driven learning experiences that empower people at every level.
With over a decade of experience across healthcare and senior living, I’ve led education, compliance, and leadership development for more than 1,100 employees across 20 senior living communities in four states. At the heart of everything I build—whether it's onboarding tracks, leadership sessions, or strategic training frameworks—is a commitment to clarity, connection, and continuous growth.
I’m a Director of Training and Development in the Senior Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care sector, where I lead enterprise-wide learning and development initiatives. I manage our e-learning infrastructure through Relias, where I’ve redesigned onboarding and compliance training to drive top-tier completion rates and ensure that every employee starts informed and stays supported. I designed Chef University, a training initiative that helps team members with limited culinary experience develop the confidence and skills to thrive in their first professional kitchen.
I helped develop and maintain LeaderLink, the internal knowledge hub that houses every policy, procedure, training resource, and communication guide our teams rely on. It’s the nerve center of our organization—ensuring that information isn’t just stored, but strategically structured and accessible. I turn scattered information into strategic infrastructure, aligning content with culture and compliance so every team member knows where to go, what to do, and how to grow.
I’ve also built leadership pipelines, created executive onboarding programs, and facilitated monthly Lunch and Learn sessions designed to spark conversation, engagement, and development across departments. Under my leadership, our organization ranked in the top 80th percentile nationally for training compliance and employee engagement. I’ve earned a reputation for bringing clarity to complexity, structure to systems, and momentum to initiatives.
My background spans not only training but also healthcare staffing, recruitment, patient care, and operations management. From helping launch six new-build communities to managing dementia unit teams of 120+ employees, I understand every layer of healthcare and senior living operations—and I build training that reflects it.
At my core, I’m a builder: of people, programs, and purpose-driven systems. If you’re looking for someone who doesn’t just teach growth but engineers it at scale, I’m already doing the work—and I’d love to bring that impact to your team.
